The Pentagon Memorial Fund said it received $250,000 from American Forests, a conservation organization, in its effort to raise $32 million for a memorial park dedicated to people who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack.

The fund's president, James Laychak, who lost his brother David in the attack on the Pentagon, said the new contribution means the fund has $7 million to go to reach its goal.

The campaign, started in 2004, has signed on corporate sponsors including the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, Accenture Ltd., AT&T Inc. and Oshkosh Truck Corp. D.C.-based American Forests promotes tree planting and forest preservation.
